Consumer confidence in Japan rose by 4.2 points in February

Seasonally adjusted consumer confidence data for February announced by the Japanese Cabinet showed that the index rose by 4.2 points to 33.8 points.

The index showed that the proportion of citizens who think consumer prices will increase in 2021 increased by 4.4 percent in January, while the rate of those expecting a decrease in prices decreased by 2.4 percent.

On the other hand, the livelihood index decreased by 4.1 points to 36.3 points in January, while the income growth indicator decreased by 1.9 points to 35.4 points. The employment index increased by 6.4 points to 27.5 points, while the will to purchase durable goods rose by 4.5 points to 36.1 points.
