According to the statement made by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, the total equity increased by 0.9 percent in the same period, reaching 604 billion 717 million TL. In the same period, the net profit of the banks was announced as 4.34 billion TL.

The asset size of the Turkish Banking Sector in January 2021 was realized as TL 6,044,937 million. The total assets of the sector decreased by 61,479 million TL (1.0 percent) compared to the end of 2020. In January 2021, loans, which are the biggest asset item, became 3.554.598 million TL and securities were 1.014.566 million TL. Compared to the end of 2020, the asset size of the sector decreased by 1.0 percent, the total of loans by 0.6 percent and the total of securities by 0.8 percent. During this period, the NPL ratio of loans was announced as 4.08 percent.

The deposit, which is the biggest source of funds among banks' resources, decreased by 1.1 percent compared to the end of 2020 and became 3,418,592 million TL. Compared to the end of 2020, the total equity increased by 0.9 percent to 604,717 million TL, while the net profit of the sector in January 2021 period was 4,341 million TL and the capital adequacy standard ratio was at the level of 18.37 percent.
